"frosty" like many Christmas songs is actually just a winter song, but because of its more recently established ties to Christmas (movies and cartoons plus tons of merchandising) is usually only played during the holiday season. Other examples of winter songs are "winter wonderland", "the holly and the ivy", "let it snow", and "baby its cold outside". But I certainly wouldn't hold a grudge if you listened to it outside of the normal holiday season ;)

I would call it a Winter song. However it is mostly sung at Christmas celebrations because people tend to get together at Christmas celebrations so it just tended to get stuck in with the Christmas songs. But your right I think It can be played all winter long as long as there is snow at least *Smile*

It's a winter song, not Christmas. Just like Winter Wonderland is a winter song but doesn't mention Christmas anywhere.
Play it whenever you want.

Then i suppose it's a holiday or seasonal song....But then you associate Frosty with all the other characters of Christmas (Santa, reindeer) and after the main holidays are over, the "holiday spirit" seems to be gone.

for as long as I can remember the only time that song has been played is at Christmas. So I guess that makes it a Christmas song.
