As they say, "Behind every great man is a great woman." Is it possble to overcome a crappy spouse?

What I mean by a great person is someone well known who has done many things like Ghandi. If his wife hadn't been willing to take care of so much back in India for him would he have been great?

YES -- that is why I DIVORCED the jerk -- he was violent, abusive, mentally ill, and did not do much of anything except harm those closest to him.

It is POSSIBLE to OVERCOME and one CAN Overcome this situation -- VERY EASILY too.

All one has to do is take the first step -- GET AWAY and go through with the divorce no matter how nasty, violent, abusive, no matter how many thefts he does, no matter how many times he steals from you, no matter how many times he STALKS your residence, etc.

By staying the course, working confidently, sacrificing everything material to LEAVE -- You CAN survive -- and Thrive -- because things can ALWAYS be replaced, but ... Human Life can NOT be replaced -- you only have ONE LIFE -- and you MUST protect that life by LEAVING the short disaster of a marriage.

Well, I think you have to define "great". I know a lot of great people (men and women) with crappy spouses that will probably never get their names in the history books, but are good, honest, and influential in a positive way.

Whats so crappy about your spouse? Its all in perspective of how you look at things. Why isnt she just as great as you are? Maybe your both great but in your own ways. Change your perspective and maybe you will be able to appreciate your spouse more.

Of course it is. I was a kid (18) when I got married and had no idea what I wanted out of life.
While he was off running around, cheating, spending money we didn't have and playing with drugs I was able to go to college ( and actually finish) hold a full time job, and raise two great kids, go to church on Sunday and keep my house in order.
Too bad he didn't appreciate it, and I grew up.

It was true and then I discarded him, now I have a great husband that stands with me...not behind, not in front of, but side by side . Together we tackle everything that comes our way.
