This is her second pregnancy and it's been a real ruff one for her. I know most women do not go on their due dates but I'm hoping she will. I don't think her OBGYN will induce her unless she is two weeks past her due date. She's on bed rest, the baby weighs 8 pounds and isn't breached. I've heard that her Doctor's are in the conservative side of not inducing labor. We all agree that a few extra days is nothing compared to the 9 months women go through but when should enough be enough and inducing labor become an option?

it al depends on the doctor and the mom. I would sugest if she goes a week over then you suggest it to the doctor. I think that mabey her throwing up is a huge serge in hormones. I believe that this might be a sign tht she will be going into labor soon. so hope all goes well for you guys. if it gets really bad then have her go to the hopsital the last thing she needs is to be sick on top of huge and due. congrats daddy.

I don't think throwing up is a sign of labor. Some women are just sick throughout their whole pregnancy. I was. Since this is her 2nd child Im pretty sure she knows when she's in labor. Labor pains feel like menstrual cramps...x10. Now waiting 2 weeks past the due date is a bit much especially since the baby is already at 8lbs. If she is already full term then her dr should induce labor. There is absolutely no reason why she should suffer.

First off, if she is throwing up, then yes she may start labor soon because a lot of women get nausous right before labor and even throughout labor. Second, if you wish to induce your labor, it is always an option. Just because your doctor may not want to does not mean that you don't have that option. The bottom line as far as that goes is that it is your wife's body and if that's what she wants and you agree, she can by all and any means ask for it. The doctor is obligated to follow through with her wishes as long as it is not harmful for the baby. I fyou guys want to induce, ask and thy shall recieve. Good luck and congrats!!!!!!

throwing up is not really a sign of labor. some women do get nauseated during the intense portion of labor though. just make sure she stays hydrated. that could make it tough on her and baby if she does go into labor. as for inducing labor i agree with the two weeks.

I have never heard of throwing up before labor either. Now during labor, yes, it can happen. If it continues, I would call the doctor or take her to the ER.

I have never heard of throwing up before labor. Call the doctor and explain your situation. Maybe your wife just has a stomach bug?

Best of luck on the upcoming event, but I have never heard of throwing up being a sign of labor. Just a bug or bad food. Sorry, but it won't be too much longer. Take care.

I had a baby and when it was close to itme for my labor I went back to the morning sickness and throwing up and feel weak. So yes this is a definite sign of labor, but it is a sign that it is getting close. Godbless.

I would REALLY call the doctor immediately on the vomitting- you wouldn't want to take any chances. make sure she is not running a temperature as well- If she is, go to the ER. If she is miserable, they should be willing to induce.

Good luck
