hmm... id have to go with the 2000 si, for starters, its a newer car, granted the gsr b18c1 is a great engine, i doubt your gonna fine one that hasnt been "dogged" out, and the same goes for the si, but the b16a2, in my opinion, is a much better engine, and its only a 10 hp difference, 10 less hp for 4 years of wear and tear????i think its worth it, but its gonna come down to personal preferance... and condition of each car. just make sure you get and alarm, and get an auto-lock and some wheel locks :P

While a newer car may have less miles and newer features, the Integra GS/R is one heck of a lot better looking than the Civic and Acura is a higher priced more top of the line vehicle than the Honda though they come from the same source.
More kids drive the Civics because they are cheaper cars with plenty of mods available... Hopefully, the Integra will have kept the cheap, gear heads away with it's stiffer price and leave you with a better maintained car. I thought my '99 GS/R was the best car I've ever owned! Bought my son a 1998 GS version and he loves his too!
Good luck!

well the GSR integra is going to be a little harder to come by as most GSR motors have pretty much been blown up.. and the civic is alright not much torque from the b16.. however you do realize having the d series that you have you could do a turbo kit and reach and exceed the power both of these cars have.. benefits of the turbo.. cheaper than buying a new car if you already have the 92 civic dx.. proper tune and turbo will keep the car very street-able, relatively little maintenance on the d series.. oh and if something happened to your motor.. go to a junkyard buy a bottom end and replace the motor all for under $200 but i want you to realize i'm not talking about pushing 300hp out of the d series i'm just talking around 200-250hp.. which is still phenomenal

2000 civic si hands down
i read the post earlier about the teg being lighter. not true the si is 60lbs lighter than the teg.
the si has alot more cleaner look than the 94-97 integras.
if you do decide to get the teg put the 98 front end on it.
either route you decide to take both have no limit to modding.
if the integra is the "luxury" civic why does it have only 4 seats?
only difference is the gsr has 10- more horse and a few more pounds of torque. and SOME come equiped with black leather.

Well, I would say the 2000 Si, but that's only because I own one and its extensively built, so I will walk any Integra that comes my way.
But, way back when my Si Coupe was still stock, a friend of mine had a 97 GS-R and he could usually beat me by just about one car length. Both cars are great and about equal.
The GS-R has a little more torque though because of its B18C1 and the Si is lighter than the GS-R by about 65 lbs but the B16A2 is notoriously bad for torque.
Either way you can't go wrong because they are both Honda's!

2000 Civic SI... why well because consumer reports is really in
love with Honda's and Toyota's! Even cars that you would think
were much better they really HATE! You can check out what
they think (nobody pays them, they have their own opinions) at
consumerreports.org you will get all the information you ever
wanted and then some! Good Luck :-)

i would pick the GSR, because in my opinion they are better cars. i drive a integra Type R '01 model and i love my car. we also own a civic hatch hooked up and all and its also a good car. but im sticking to my integra. if u have driven both types and compare u'll probably have a better chance on deciding which one. good luck to ya!!..
