I am going to San Diego tonight (staying at the hotel cicle). What are very good restaurants around there? Do not care what food as long as it is great.
Thanks

If you want to stay in the Hotel Circle area, I would suggest Hunter Steakhouse. Their steaks are oh so good. Their address:

2445 Hotel Circle North
San Diego, CA 92108

If you want sushi nearby, you have got to try Todai. Fantastic sushi bar. It's won so many awards for best seafood/sushi bar/buffet in San Diego recently. Once you've tried the salmon there, you'll understand why.

Todai
Sushi Buffet
2828 CAMINO DEL RIO SOUTH
SAN DIEGO, CA. 92108

It's not exactly in Hotel Circle, but verrry close.

Now, if you're willing to venture outside of the Hotel Circle area, there are TONS of great restaurants in San Diego. Good places to go are downtown and La Jolla - there are great restaurants in other places of town, too, but downtown and La Jolla are great because they have a thriving night life. In La Jolla you can do lots of window shopping and people watching before/after dinner, and the cove is nearby so you may be able to look out at the water while dining. There's also a comedy club that's pretty good in La Jolla, if you're interested. Downtown there are lots of clubs and bars for post-dinner entertainment.

Anyway, back to restaurants. In La Jolla, I recommend:

Tapenade
French food - very $$$$ but worth the price! This is where I take my husband for anniversaries.
7612 Fay Ave
La Jolla, CA

Downtown/Gaslamp

Candelas
Mexican food
416 Third Ave
San Diego, CA 92101

Bertrand at Mister A's
American-inspired food; business attire ONLY
2550 Fifth Avenue Twelfth Floor,
San Diego, CA 92103
Amazing views of the skyline

If you don't want to spend a lot of money to get great food, then do check out the restaurants in Old Town, which isn't that far from Hotel Circle. My favorite there is

Zocalo
Mexican food
2444 San Diego Ave
San Diego, CA

Old Town Mexican cafe is also good, and cheap
2489 San Diego Ave.
San Diego, CA 92110

Have fun in San Diego!!!

Do yourself a favor and go to Old Town or to LaJolla to eat.

George's at the Cove in LaJolla is really nice (you may not be able to get in on a Friday night).

Old Town/Gas Lamp District offer tons of choices.

Forget hotel circle.

Its hard to find restaurants in that area. You have to go out of the circle. Try asking your hotel concierge

There are some restaurants there, mostly chains.
But you will be very close to Old Town (many great Mexican places there) and fairly close to the bay and all the seafood.
