Did you see what happened? People had a protest against them and so many got arrested. The police even stated that they didnt have the time for the homosexuals, since they could be somewhere else protecting the country from possible terrorist attacks....It's sad to see a country that was built upon the consequences of discrimination (lets not forget that Nazis killed homosexuals as well) is treating the "different" ones like this, and want them to disappear...Evil has no face and even the mistreated will mistreat others in time...Funny how things can come around in such a dark way....
What do you think?

Goswin, you are bigotry itself. You even call liberals terrorists, so screw you I guess and go back to your cave. And if you dont know anything about biology stop exposing your rather uneducated self and go back to your caravan redneck scum.

In Israel, the Jews hate us gays even though we died along side of them in Germany so many years ago. The American blacks here don't like us, even though we fight the same excuses while trying to gain our civil equality.
However we gays turn against each other as well. This happens on daily basis. We turn against those who have HIV and AIDS. We forget we could end up in their shoes too.
The police in Israel made a call to stop a very dangerous parade. If it had occurred it most likely would have ended up in blood shed. I don't want to see anyone killed, not do they. The area is in turmoil politically. It perhaps may not have been the best time or place to have a parade, perhaps the police made a correct decision (maybe the reasoning behind it questionable) but a good decision no less.
I commend these gays for being so brave, but surely they can find other ways of making their statement in a safer way. We have lost enough gay men to disease and hate.

Gays are about 10% of ANY population it seems (based on research). So that's about true in Israel -- except that Arab gays from terroritories request amnesty in Israel to save them from harm. So add those & others who've come from places that would harm them, and it's a bit higher percent. I've seen lots & lots of IDF not doing "gay stuff". So if a few did? There's all the ones who get into male-female relationships. IDF is made up of Israeli citizens & post service they go onto have a whole country of children & families with men & women married together. Gay citizens too, of course. But obviously it's not a "gay" country.... The parade gets tons of coverage around the world because: 1 - Israel is the only ME country that supports gay rights & safety. 2 - Israel is news, so even internal stuff in Israel gets airtime that wouldn't if it was in any other country (though israeli's would be pleased if that would stop.) 3 - For a while the parade went right near the ultra religious communities. So people in the parade barely dressed & all sorts of stuff that conversative folks would find uncomfortable & offensive, would walk right by. Result was conflict, which media loves to air conflicts, so again it'd get air time. Solution a couple years ago was to move the parade route to a better option. All were happier.

"The police even stated that they didnt have the time for the homosexuals, since they could be somewhere else protecting the country from possible terrorist attacks...."
as much as i support gay rights, i have to agree with this statement.
actually israel is very egalitarian in terms of gay rights. there are openly gay politicians, and gay people, while not able to get married quite yet, can enter into legal civil unions which give them basically the same rights as regularly married couples. unlike other "democratic" nations, the israeli army doesn't discriminate against gays, gay people can adopt their spouses children, and foreign gay partners of israeli citizens are given residency permits and are protected from being deported just like foreign married couples are protected.
unfortunately though, the choice to have a gay pride parade in jerusalem, an extremely religious orthodox city, was stupid. obviously the orthodox are going to have a problem with a gay pride parade in the holy city. they should have chosen to have the parade in the same places they are usually held every year, like tel aviv, or haifa, or anyplace other than jerusalem.

Sad but true, many Jews have forgotten their experiences and have chosen to visit hatred upon others. Now, at this point, let me make it clear, I said 'many', not all, not most, just 'many'.
In truth, any nation, Christian, Jew, Muslim, that allows religion to dictate completely the law of the land will always have hate. Religion, not faith, is the true evil.

If this is how they treat their people in Tel Iviv, why is our government giving Israel billions of dollars in "aid" every year? At the very least Israel should use part of that money to educate some of their citizens about life in the 21st century.
