A truly "polite" society wouldn't offer an "all you can eat buffet". I say go up and eat all that you truly can eat! Unlimited Crab Rangoon!!

I have been to a few all you can eat buffets and the staff there does keep an eye on people. Each place did the same thing. After you have been back to the bar for the second time, they politely hint to you that after the second or third trip it is enough by placing the tab on the table. Most people take the hint. I have only seen a few who really abuse the system.

Three trips, and only if you are not bringing back a mountain of food each time. And the thrid trip is dessert.

Also, never eat a a Chinese buffet... better, in all cases really, to order the food you want and eat it. Food is fresher and better prepared.

I say eat till you puke. Every one goes to pig out, if they weren't so popular, there wouldn't be so many of them.

I live in Florida and have all my life. Once, years ago, we were told to stay where we were because a huge storm was on the way. Well it just so happened that me and my friends were at a buffet. We lost power so the employees lit candles and we ate and ate. It was the best place to be in that kind of a situation.

As long as the buffet has a good turnover. There's one chinese buffet I go to where everything is fresh because it has a high turnover. They have lobster and shrimp and all kinds of stuff. I do not really care for buffets because I don't eat alot anyway but this one is exceptional.

It's a buffet... I don't think proper and buffet go in the same sentence. If you are looking for a proper dinner, then you need to go to one that serves you. As for me....I go up as many times as it takes for me to feel satisfied. Sometimes you just don't like what you put on your plate and go to find something else. I say just as long as you don't pull your chair up to the bar itself...you are ok.

wow......tough question. when i was younger, i went hog wild on the favorite things that i like. Now , it dosen't take much for me to get full. I start with a trip to the salad section, then 1 trip to the things i like a little of this, a little of that . & a treat to the dessert section.

When I go to a buffet, I usually make a trip up to it for salad and soup. Then I make a trip up to it for an entree and a side. And if I have room I go up for desert.
