To me, Christmas is about bringing family together to celebrate. We have a big dinner together, go to evening church service together, then come back to my grandmas house and just spend time with each other. My cousin and I are inseperable, but dont get to see each other much, so Christmas is even more special. True, it is the birth of Christ, but the way my family really celebrates the Christmas spirit is by coming together and sharing food, gifts, and time with each other.

Yes it is the birth of Christ, but it also means family and friends get-togethers, a smiling holiday when everyone is merry and almost everyone forgetting about their sad days and stress.
Christmas doesn't have to be grand and expensive to celebrate. I think what you're doing on Christmas is good and conservative. But you may want to add a nice feast with the family you live with, since you said you can't have a Christmas with all family and friends. And a little kind gift-giving if you can afford it. Like I said, it doesn't have to be the greatest thing of all! So the gifts only have to be thoughtful, not expensive.

I was baptized but no longer believe in the Church. I still celebrate with family the spirit of giving and love. Who cares if you don't "believe" but still are a good and moral person.

To me it means, Family, love, giving. I just love that time of year. Sure its full of commercials and crap like that, but you just have to try to ignore it. I work in retail and am expected to "eat" Christmas's from late Sept. to the end of Dec. Sure i get sick of it all, but as soon as I smell that turkey cooking, hear the laughter and joy of the family being together, it makes it all worth it.
I'll be the first to say it...
Merry Ho ho .
