Depo Provera is a birth control shot. I have been on it for 5 years now and it has been working great I have never had any problems. The most common side affects include weight gain, (I still weight the same as I did 5 years ago). and bone density which you will get back when you stop using the shot. As long as you take calcium you have nothing to worry about. It changed my period a bit, I still get it every month but not as heavy as before.
Some women may experience an allergic reaction to the Shot and that is the reason that you hear negative openions about the shot (Most don't have alergic reactions, All the women in my family take the shot and we all love it.) If you are considering taking the shot read about it first and talk to your doctor and if it sounds like something you want to do try it once and monitor the way you feel the way ou get your period, weight gain ect. and if you like it keep using it. i personally recomend it.

Depo-provera is a form of birth control. Your doc will try to pass it off as the best birth control available, partly because it is supposed to stop your period, and you only have to get it every 3 months.
I strongly advise you to google the shot before you begin it. You'll find a website called "Depo Horror Stories". I had heavy irregular bleeding, to the point I thought I was going to have to take a trip to the E.R., and I gained 25 lbs. in just one month, despite the fact I was exercising.

Depo Provera - it's a birth control shot that you get once every 3 months. Just as effective as the pill, but you rarely have to worry about it.
