Moral Leadership?

In 1992, the team of Clinton and Gore directly vowed to shut down a reactor in East Liverpool, Ohio. Once elected, this reactor was quickly forgotten, and left spewing toxic waste only five blocks from an elementary school. Of course I'm not going to praise Bush here too, since that reactor is still operating today. But it's a great example of Democrat Morals, Ethics, and even enviornment.

I'm sure that it was morally correct for Clinton to raise OPIC's (that's the federal group that gives money to companies willing to make developments over seas) budget to 3 Billion a year from the 300 million mark set by Bush Senior. I'm sure he was thinking of morals and ethics when companies began sending jobs over seas and Americans were standing on unemployment lines.

I've never seen Democrats do anything but persude masses of the most gullible people on earth to buy the load of crap they are selling. This site holds some phenominal example of some of these morons who think they are democrats. Look at the questions.. "Will Bush be held accountable for his crimes after his term?", "Do you think it's funny to watch the Republicans wine now that they lost the house?", etc. It's a shame people that gullible can vote.

P.S. To the guy who listed Ted Bundy as a Republican, you should point out the Democrat moral screw ups too. For example, lets go back to 1991. Anyone recall what happened at the Kennedy compund that year?

Yes. It will likely be a lot more moral than the leadership we've seen in the last six years, where personal interest overrode the interests of society as a whole.

Republicans didn't want to give medical care to six million children currently denied this care - Democrats do.

Republicans didn't want seniors to buy drugs from Canada where they are cheaper, because that would impact the profits for drug companies - Dems want to allow that.

Republicans didn't want Medicare to negotiate drug prices so seniors would get a better deal - Dems will allow that.

Republicans wanted to interfere with every aspect of our lives, including what we do in the bedroom, and how we die. The Terri Shivo case showed they can't be trusted to stay out of our family affairs.

Republicans were found guilty on various corruption charges, including taking bribes and attempting to intimidate voters.

Republicans covered up the Foley scandal, where he was making disgusting advances to teenage boys in the page program.

I don't see any moral leadership from the Republicans - I know the Democrats will do better.

The Dems have accomplished nothing of what they promised. Indeed, they have continued to fund the very war of which they complain! And, since they came into majority in Congress the price of petroleum has hit all time highs, unemployment has risen, the party has been torn apart by infighting and the housing market has been on a downward spiral. Is that leadership? I think not. Vote McCain!

I'm sorry maybe it's just me but why is any politician even thinking about trying to give me moral leadership. If I want to talk about morals let me go to church if I'm looking for tax relief I'll talk to the politicians.

Morality in the white house....
One president (democrat) chooses to enjoy his interns a little bit more than he should as a married man...
One president (republican) chooses to go to war with a country because of WMD, later tells the public, oops no WMD, but it's all still good to go to war with this country.

My morality has nothing to do with the guys and women running Washington, thank god. :)

2006-11-10 04:16:21 · answer #5 · answered by SmileyGirl 4 · 1 0

I certainly don't. Whatever the faults of individual republicans who single-handedly destroyed the image of their party, the republicans are far and away better suited for a moral leadership, because of the principles of the party.

I realize people may scoff at that, but what moral standards would you expect from a party that officially supports abortion-on-demand? Nancy Pelosi voted against parental notification laws. Moral? Responsible? I think not. Women can exercise the right to choose what's best for their bodies, but apparently not for their daughters, in Pelosi's opinion.

If abortion is wrong, which only the very sheep-like among us can deny, then the democrats haven't a leg to stand on in the morality debate because it would imply they whole-heartedly support the killing of thousands of babies a year, which clearly undercuts any other single issue, including Iraq.

Thats a nice list abqdan. Now make one up for the Liberal Secular Progressive Dems who are about to take office.
Im 54 yrs old and you can quote your one sided view of republicans all you want but there are two sides to every coin. Democrats have NOTHING to be proud of either. Each party has its own special interests and its own agenda.
The real problem is that politics seems to bring out the worse in many people whether they are Dems or Repub.

Sheep and cattle need to be led. The American people need officials that carry out their demands. That is why the Republicans got thrown out on their ear. 'Leaders', like Giuliani, who is making a fortune off his phoney Homeland Security company, it should be illegal to profit from the tragedy of 9/11!
