Oh memories!! Please try and relax. Just hold on till that baby is ready to come. I know it feels like forever right now, but just hang in there. Try laying on your left side, that should shift the baby a little. Good Luck & God Bless.

I know that it is very very uncomfortable, but really you need to listen to everyone. It is very important that you wait as long as possible to have your baby. The reason that a woman carries a baby for 40 wks is because the baby is constantly growing and developing. The less amount of time the baby stays in you the less developed it is. My son was born the day before his due date and he still had some development issues. It wasn't something serious, but at 37 weeks it could be serious. A friend of mine went into labor at 37 weeks and her doctor stopped her labor because the babies lungs develop during week 37 & 38. So please do not try to induce your labor it will happen soon enough and when it does it will be a beautiful occasion that you will remember forever.

Please take care

walking actually helps out a lot. People told me to try having sex, but it didn't work for me. Then there is the old Castro Oil (I think that's what it's called) in OJ trick...but I refused to even try that. I know it's uncomfortable, but hang in there...it will be over soon. I got the same way for a few days and before I knew it I was in the hospital having my son.

DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT induce labour at 37 weeks. Your baby is not ready. If your baby were ready it would come out.

Do go see a chiropractor or massage therapist to see if they can make your more comfortable. (See http://www.icpa4kids.org/ to find a pregnancy specialist in your area)

Do talk to your midwife or doctor about ways to relieve your pain.

But no induction is safe, particularly at 37 weeks.

I know you won't like this, but since everyone's bodies and pregnancies are different, you should really only ask you doctor that question. We don't know your overall health or any of the conditions of your pregnancy. My advice to you would be to ignore any ideas you get from Yahoo! Answers and just go ask your doctor. It might even be too early for you to consider trying to induce. Please ask him. Good Luck!

You are so not alone!
I was desperate when I was getting close to my due date...I walked everyday, had sex everyday and drank raspberry iced tea (all basically just old wives tales). My daughter was born right on her due date, she was 5 pounds 14 ounces...good thing she didn't come sooner!!!
Good luck, congrats, and sleep while you can :)
