Should I be concerned if my 19 year old sublets a house in N Portland?Whats it like?I have heard not to good.?

The owner has said what a great area and neighborhood it is but others have said NO WAY.We cannot make it up there before she has to decide if she wants to take it.Any input would be appreciated.

north portland is not a good area, crime is high.
