What is the difference btwn Treason and Mutiny?

Question

I feel it is similar but a person can be charged seperately of these two types of rebellion. If someone could please explain and differentiate the two in legal terms.

Mutiny is the forcible or passive resistance to lawful authority; especially : concerted revolt (as of a naval crew) against discipline or a superior officer.

Treason definition term would cover mutiny but is also broader to cover all acts against a sovereign nation to which you are a citizen of.

In other words, mutiny is a specific rebellion against a specific commander (usually naval in context) by a person or persons under that commander's command.

Treason is any action that is aimed at hurting or attempting to hurt a sovereign nation. Very broad so all mutinies are treason in the strictest sense, but not all treason are mutiny.

Mutiny means rebellion. It could be done against any authority, not necessarily the government. Treason, on the other hand, is only against government. In the past, treason, could have been on a clergy or foreman, but nowadays, it is used losely for the crime against government. Also, bear in mind that depending on the legislation's intent, the suspect can be charged with more than one crime, although the crimes are closely related.

A Mutiny is the only way to remove an Incompetent out of control authority when all other options fail , Like an Impeachment in the Case of Obama, It would take to dam long for the process , and He would still be active until he was proven Guilty , However , when a majority of Military , and the American Public take control and force this perpatrator out,and have made their voices heard , And Arrest the out of Control leader , It is done to Protect everyone in danger from the insane Captan, or General, or in this case ,The President . Mutiny happens when an officer on a ship does not obey his commander's orders, influenced his fellow officers,and rebelled against the commander.
