Yes it's wrong but it's also none of your business.

Absolutely!
It takes a long time to make a real friend and they are so far and few between. It is so wrong to dump that friend that's been with you for so long for new people who may only stay for a little while.
This happened when I was younger because when you are young, it is stylish to be trendy and you always look for the "in-crowd." The thing is, we don't realize what we have until its gone and of course, by then, it's too late.
Good friends are hard to come by, especially this day and age. There seems to be no time for the real things in life as it is, why lose a good friend over something you will change your mind on in a few weeks anyway? When you have something solid, something that won't make your head spin just because you show up wearing blue eye shadow that doesn't match your green outfit but goes great with your vinyl blue boots. That friend will giggle and hand you her matching vinyl blue handbag. What will the new preppy friend do? No doubt, she has to fulfill the law of gossip and post a bulletin around the school that shows a pic of YOU in that outfit with the words: GEEK! plastered all over it.
Best friends are just that...the best! So keep them!

You don't have to completely stop being her friend. You definitely can't spend time with them anymore like you used to though. Y'all can still go out to lunch and go shopping, but when it comes to sleep overs and parties, you say no. BUT, you know what? If their behavior completely disgusts you and you don't want to be around people like that at all (which is a good move) then just tell them that. Say this, "You guys, I love you so much. But I do not want to drink or do drugs and I don't want to be around people who drink and do drugs. I am going to miss you very much but you have chosen a path I refuse to go down and we can't hang out anymore." Seeing as how y'all are all very young, they will probably be nasty about it, and it will hurt. But, as with any loss, that pain will go away in time. And it's not like you'll be without friends. You sound like you run with a fairly popular crowd. There's a point in our lives when we all grow up. The lives that ran paralles to yours for so long may now begin to run in different directions and you just have to adjust. It's wonderful, painful, exciting and terrible all at the same time. You do what's right and the rest of your life will be exactly as is should be.

most definitely yes but the girls she dumped should consider themselves lucky as she was never a true friend and leave her with her new group she will soon find out what they are like and will regret her actions. Also remember it is better to have 1 true friend than 10 false ones

they can but do they? if not then why couldn't you be friends with both ? if you cant then id would stick with the one that is loyal already but not if it is a control issue becuase i have separate sets of friends and real friends do not get along necessarily all at the same time but know that i get along with all and dont condone any mean heartedness toward the other
