Depends what you're looking for: If you are looking for an Driving Simulator, Grand Turismo 4 right now is one of the best simulators, if you are looking for a more arcade type racer, anything from the Need for Speed Series is probably more up your alley.

It really depends on what you're looking for. In terms of pure simulation, Gran Turismo 4 is still the best, except there's no body damage, and you have to have a bit of know-how when you're tuning your cars, but there are literally hundreds of different cars to choose from. Burnout 3 is a great, fast-paced racing game with quite a few different modes of racing, whether it be against the clock, opponents, or trying to see how much money you can do in one crash attempt. Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition is a great way to go if you're into tuners, with lots of different models of cars to buy and tune. In this one you're also free to roam about the city that you're in and look for different races, so you're not just confined to driving only during races.
