The series is ethical, as the books are filled with situations that show the difference between right and wrong. It's fantasy! Do they also have a problem with The Bearenstein Bears bc bears can't really talk? I think not, bc these parents are making protests to Harry Potter based only on what they perceive to be the religious conotations instead of on actual intent.

The Harry Potter books are ethical. They are stories of friendship & good triumphing over evil. I think some people get hung up on the use of magic as being a bad thing. But its just fantasy and I think most kids realize that.

Ethical-absolutely. The Harry Potter series teaches us about true friendship, loyalty, humility, and family. It is all about the ongoing battle between good and evil. How is that not ethical! The people who protest the books have most likely never read them, and if they have are too narrow minded!

harry potter is an enigma!is addictive and its too very unreal!actually in a way these books introduce our world to a world where each of us would have power.ppl enjoy the feeling of power and such imagination generates that very thought of this magical world being a reality.indeed the series slowly is loosing its charm and freshness and are becoming too voilently disturbing.certain concepts of the book tend to mislead children.the real concern should actually be the imagination of the children.opposition can be a sign of overprotectiveness but it throws light onto the fact that maybe just maybe the magical adventures off harry are just too dangerous for the real world

Yes, it is a very ethical book and it is also about family values. The people that knock it have :
1) never read the books

Not overprotective. Closed minded! My children LOVE to read and they know if they have questions or are confused about anything they read they can come to me and we will discuss it or research it.

The parents are wrong, not the book... when will parents understand tv, videogames and books are not guilty their kids are messed up, it's them, who don't take care of them.

Instead of b!tching, they should be raising their own kids, for God's sake!!!
