It seems that the men are all streaking at a constant velocity of 17 miles per hour. This is a very simple problem. All you need to know is the relationship between velocity, displacement and time:

v = dx/dt

dt = dx/v

dt = 3/17

dt = 10.6 minutes or 0.18 hours

Answer: Probably most of the day.
Rational: you aren't going to find nine 385lb men who can keep up a 17mph rate for 3 miles without collapsing or stopping for snack breaks.
