Six years ago I was molested. I blocked it out of my memory for about three or four years, but everything came back in ninth grade and by then I beleived it was too late for me to do anything, so I kept it to myeslf. I just told my parents two days ago, and they say we will take this somewhere legally if I want to, but only with my permission. I think I want to but I want to know what the process will be.

This happened to at least seven other girls.

I was about ten when it happened.

His daughter is now about ten.

The other girls were between the ages of 5-12. They might not even remember.

He had pictures on his computer by this lady who would paint her daughter naked by the lake, he might have child porn on his computer. He is on the computer all the time when he is not at work.

What would happen if I decided to persue this legally? What would happen?

If you are capable of pursuing this legally, you absolutely should to save others from what happened to you. Based upon what you have already stated, there is probably enough for the police to obtain a search warrant and if there is evidence in the home (and there likely is) to prosecute him and put him in jail. You may have to testify about what happened. Other girls may come forward. It will not be easy, but it will really help you and the other victims as well as helping many other girls that you don't even know about. Be brave!

The legal aspect of this is that the Statute of Limitation on this was recently tolled, meaning that you have up until the age of 18 to make a claim and have this guy prosecuted. The moral part also dictates that you should have this guy prosecuted for the safety of others.

Do whatever you can do to keep this guy off the streets-or you'll forever regret you didn't try! I agree with the other comments-talk to a lawyer...

Be a hero to other young girls-they never stop molesting...

There is a statue of limitations for sexual abuse.. you would have to find out what it is in your state.. however if more recent girls are being abused and they want to press charges you can be a witness.. even though he won't pay for his crimes to you, it may certainly help others from being abused
