Yes, I did when I was married...started it by saving $$$ out of my weekly funds. The rest of my pay check went into the joint acct. After 7 years of listening to him b*tch because he never had enough spending $$ I handed over the bill paying to him. I kept 50 from my check per week and deposited the rest usually about 300-350 into the joint acct. Out of the 50 I'd usually only spent 20-30 and the rest I'd put into an acct of my own. One day the sherriff came knocking on my door...seems the hubby had stopped paying the credit cards!!!!! For two years I had thought he was doing really well with paying the bills. HA! we were 3 months behind on the house note. Creditors eventually garnished our wages! At this point I quit giving him any money at all..keeping the little amount I had left after garnishment and socking it away. Signed the house over to him, packed my sh*t and walked away. After a year of being on my own I have a little sweet apartment of my own, a brand new vehicle which I pay for on my own and the 25,000 of debt he accrewed on one of my cards is now paid in full. Learned my lesson. I will never again combine my funds with a man. From here on out its 50/50.

any smart woman has a stash of money just in case. many a woman has been left w/o any access to money when the husband has closed the act & taken all the money . always have a credit card in your name only & a post office box ready.. i know it sounds awful, but i may come in handy someday

If I tell you it won't be a secret anymore now would it...but in case I had one (cause I am not admitting it or denying it) I would use it for emergencies or planning a very cool anniversary trip to Bali. oops I have said too much.
