I have been carrying the same purse I always have, same cell phone, different clothes each time - nothing newly purchased that I would be wearing. I cleaned out my purse and there is nothing out of the ordinary in there - I have no idea and it is quite embarrasing!

They may have changed the system, or updated it to be more sensitive, or just changed the settings. If it is one of the magnetic based systems, they can be set to go off for as little metal as a large amount of keys on a chain/ring.
Don't worry about it. I'm sure that there are plenty of other people who aren't stealing, but still setting the device off. Let the mall's security deal with the problem. I'm sure they will get it fixed eventually.

probably inside your cell phoen or other electroinic has a device that sets off the alarm

do you have one of those sticky security things stuck to the bottom of your shoe?
I did once and set the stupid alarm off everytime i went to walmart. hahahaha!

I've heard that DVDs or CDs could set it off, that's all I know!
