The mail service is pretty crummy now a days. Some maied me a check from across town and it took over 8 days to get to me. Getting back to you situations, nect time send a check, or money order. I would NOT send another payment, I would just accept the negative rating, and cut my loses.

Whether they received it or not a seller can claim they did not receive the payment and there's not a thing you can do. You're only recourse is that the seller is not suppose to ask for cash unless it's a pick up only situation however it's against the rules so you will not get any support from ebay. If you don't pay the seller will win the claim and you'll receive a strike. You'll have that short feedback space to try to explain to others viewing your feedback, however the seller can respond with a negative and make it worse. If it's a seller you'll want to do business with again you might want to pay, just spend the money on the MO this time, otherwise the strike is not going to ruin you. I wouldn't send any more cash to anyone unless you trust them. People send me cash and I'm okay with it however I don't do it for this exact reason. There's a lot of scammers. Anyhow there is a remote chance the envelope will show up....once I sold a gift card, the lady was pissed when she didn't get it and I was pissed I had to take the loss. A month later it was returned to me...she had given me the wrong address!! Sorry I couldn't give you better news. Be careful & BOL

That is a dilemma. The Post Office warns do not send cash by mail. However that is done. The Money order would have been a better option. Now it is up to you. is your reputation as a non paying bidder worth another $6.00 this time by Money Order only!! , and to remember this as a lesson well learned. Or you could insist, that you payed cash and take a chance on his filing a non paying bidder claim against you. I believe EBay also gives you an option to explain on this type of accusation. and go without the CD. Most people are honest, you can appeal to his honesty

My advice is to never pay for anything online with cash. There are many unscrupulous people trying to make a buck (or 6) out there. Unfortunately, at this point, if you did not pay for tracking on your payment when you sent it, you have no way of proving whether the seller really received it. I think that you are stuck with either paying again (after all it was only $6) or accepting the negative feedback and consequences of a non-paying bidder strike. I guess it just depends on how much you really want the DVD. But, keep up communications with the seller. Often times that will keep things at bay until you can figure out how you want to handle it. Good luck!

First of all, you should probably never send cash to anyone, because just imagine all the people who handle the mail before it gets to where its going and no offense to the Postal Service, but I personally don't trust strangers that much. I mean, these are the people who invented "going postal". Secondly, since you don't know the seller, they too could be dishonest and you have no proof of payment. I think you'll have to send a money order and be glad its only an extra $6 instead of something larger, and chalk it up as lesson learned.

Sadly, Postal workers are the primary culprits for lost cash in the mail. If the seller's feedback is good, he's probably reputable and did not receive your payment. It might be worth the $6.00 to keep your Feedback rating clean and shiny.

You should NEVER mail cash. You have no proof and you are responsible for paying him. Sorry, you're SOL on this one.
