i cannot put my computer on stand by. please help me.?

Go to shut down. It will take you to stand-by. If you push shift it will take you to hibernate.

Go to your control panel and pull up screensaver,look for energy or power click it and it will bring you to stand by and hibernate mode it may be set not to go into standby mode.Just fix it there. Good Luck
