This seems a lot don't you think for a normal everyday guy to be associated with. I don't get involved with any particular "risk groups". Do any of you share this statistic?
Does this mean there is a huge and growing problem with suicide in todays world that ordinary Joe Soap can know this many people ? Why would this be ?

I would think there is no reason for concern, unless the four were personal confidantes of yours, or close friends. I would need more information also, like their ages, situation, lifestyle, and how you knew them.
Interesting though, my mom has been married 4 times, and 2 of her husbands committed suicide, but years after she was divorced from each of them.
One was a doctor who was introverted, genius, atheist. He had frequent bouts with depression off and on, and at the time of his death, he was struggling with the deaths of his mother and his only brother, who had died within a 6 month period of each other. He ran head on into a telephone pole in his car, no evidence of blood alcohol, no skid marks.
The other had cheated in a fishing tournament and had won a sizable sum of money, but was being investigated for foul play, so he took his life with a hunting rifle as an alternative to prison. He was a nice guy, and not atheist, but misguided. He had an eleven year old son who will miss him forever.
A few years later, my best friend's father locked himself in the family garage with the car running because his wife had left him after the kids were grown and gone. He was an unemployed engineer, nice guy, atheist.
These are people I knew well, but there were others I heard of, who were friends of friends.
I am sad for all of them, but we all go through tough times. My belief is that one has to have a relationship with God. There are many evils in this world, and whether anyone wants to admit it or not, human beings go through spiritual warfare. We are not meant to go through it without the help and guidance of God. I have no doubt that the above mentioned people would still be with us today if they had trusted in that truth.

I know probably many more, but actually I didn't know them well, other than one or two. They were people I met either because of my job or at functions. I don't think the incidence is growing. I do know however in Las Vegas, it doesn't even make the news, live nor in print! It does should it be a hi-profile person.

dont worry of course they have nothing to do with u. coincedence maybe? the more that u focus on it the more ul make it a problem and obsess bout it, stop worrying ur still here arent u,aslong as u didnt do anything to cause them to commit suicide uve got nothing to worry bout. my friend commited suicide 2years ago and i still wonder could i have changed it reached out to her a bit more but the answer i came to is that was her own choice so even though i dont understand it il have 2 respect it.

Eventhough i'm too youthful to vote, I completely understand the place this chaos stems from. Who can we vote? Who can we have faith? an identical corrupted politicians that lead us to this occasion? persons are scared and desperate here. An abnormally super component of them even voted a nazi occasion believing that dictatorship is the only desire for us. they don't seem to be thinking immediately. they can't have faith an identical political events.

It is a lot pf people but I think you are in the unfortunate minority. I don't know of anyone who has committed suicide. Most people I know don't know anyone who has committed suicide either. I think everyone knows at least one person who has died of cancer though. That's the real worry.

I can't imagine it means anything unless they're family members (mental illness is very genetic) or you are just naturally attracted to depressive types.

It's probably just a statistical anomolie. It happens. Strange, and very unfair that you should have to suffer so much of it.

That's really weird.

I've never met anyone who's killed themselves, and I've worked with high risk groups in the past (homeless people, victims of domestic violence).

Plus most of my friends are complete nutjobs! :-)

Tell you what, mate, I'm steering well clear of you from now on!
