Set up displays of old science methods as compared to modern ways, showing how some are true to this day, and others are not so true or best methods. example of wind tunnel experiments and developments in aviation, pulley and rope systems, auto transmissions, or just everyday things, like kitchen and cooking methods and improvements.

The effects of microwaves on seed germination and growth. I did this one with both kids - judges loved it!

Get bean seeds and put them in the microwave oven at varying powers same length of time. Of course you need a control group that you do nothing to.

Plant the seeds and measure how long it takes them to germinate and show their little sprouts. Continue to measure them as they grow. Make charts to compare, etc. etc.

A model of a cell is very easy to do. Reserch it then go to the crafts store...And then you have your sci project.
