I bought my mum the Itrip for her birthday- uv got to tune it all in (using your car radio) but explains it all in the instructions and is really easy.. It works using your car speakers so the sound is really good...
The Itrip is around £30 - 40

Get the iTrip from Griffen. All that you need to do is install the CD that the iTrip comes with into iTunes, and then you can play your iPod right through your RADIO! The sound quality is excellent, and better than any cabled adapter for your car. The iTrip is available in sizes for the regular and mini iPods. I'm not sure if they have one for the Nano. My best friend had wanted to get a Nano, but she didn't because the car adaptor was something like $100. The iTrip can be bought from any Apple store, or places like Radio Shack and Best Buy. I got my first iTrip from the Apple store for $30 in 2004, and then got a second one in 2006 from Office Depot for $40 when my first one broke (I stepped on it - very bad.)

If you've got a tape player then you can get this cassette thing (I got mine from John Lewis) that you plug your ipod into and then put the cassette in the tape player and it plays the music through your car stereo.
Don't know what to suggest if you've got a cd player. There is this thing that can transmit your ipod music and then you tune your radio into that frequency, but apparently these are illegal in the UK.

It depends what you already have in your car.
I bought a cassette tape adapter. You just plug it into your ipod, and it plays through your car stereo. You can buy a proper one from apple - but i got mine from ebay for £4 and works fine. It gives good quality sound too!

I dont know but definitely check out Tesco if you can, the bigger stores do good deals on Ipod stuff, i got a pair of Lanyard headphones in there for £7, they are £25 in Argos!!
