when i was 16 in high school (1986) i was grounded for 9 weeks for a bad report card. during the time i was grounded my dad took me to a car lot and bought me a '77 ford F-100, fire engine red with chrome wheels, chrome bumpers and glass packs, i had to sit in the house and look at that truck for 8 long weeks before i could drive it. ouch man!

It was before I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar. I was 15 and I turned to the bottle to cope. My mother caught me boozing in my room, which I'd forgotten to lock, and she was FURIOUS. She stripped my room clean. For a whole month all I had in there was a bed and a dresser.

A terrible look of disappointment & utter silence that broke my heart. I've never regretted anything more than that & I've never screwed up that badly again.

i got suspended in 7th grade and my mother told me i was too old to be spanked...she told me i had a choice to make ~ whether i was going to do right or do wrong. AT THAT MOMENT, i thought i was doomed, so i got my act together real fast and dumped my loser friends!!
