You don't just go out and buy a pound of "friendship" It is a loooong slow road from the time you first encounter a person who seems to be on the same page as you, through all the stages to the point of close and loyal friendship. Friendly acquaintances you will make aplenty if you put yourself out there in a friendly way. But FRIENDS ? that's another thing. The whole thing has to mature over time, like a fine wine. and there are no shortcuts to making either one.
