I have been on the depo shot and nine months ago changed to the nuva ring. I haven't had a period for like nine years. Two weeks ago I started spotting and now I'm bleeding very heavily. There are clotts the size of my pinky finger and I'm worried that it might be something serious. The doctor said sometimes it just happens. I have been completely stressed out lately. Has anyone else had this happen? When does it stop?

I had the heavy bleeding while on the depo shot, which I was not supposed to get. Apparently the nuva-ring just isn't agreeing with you. Different forms of birth control work better on different people.

when you switch like that you could have a period or two, its your body adjusting, my body adjusted like that only instead of finger size clots....mine where big enough to hold in my hand...which REALLY HURT!!!! if you already expressed your concern with your dr and he/she said it is fine then no need to worry. curse the female body right?? haha :) my sister took the depo and her dr told her that it is still in your system for awhile after you stop it, so that is probably why it took nine months
