These are still good for their face value at any bank or store. However the silver dollars are worth at least $9 apiece for the silver in them and possibly more as collectibles. The bills may also have some collector value, but probably not much unless they are in uncirculated condition.

They are still considered legal currency.

However, you might get a small premium for the bills, and a much larger premium for the coins from a dealer. Real Silver dollars will get anywhere from 3 to 5 times face just for the silver, and if they are in good condition and rare years, much more. Check out eBay or a good coin store to find out current prices.

Yes you can use them, in fact i used to be a teller at a bank and would save those bills. I think they are called Federal Reserve Notes. I sold a 50 dollar bill from 1938 for over $100 on ebay. If anything, they are worth more than $5.

Go to a reputable Coin Dealer - FIRST - make sure - if they are valuable, put them on E-Bay at the amount they are worth and start the bidding... Good Luck - (you never know, you could be holding in your hands, a lot more money then the value of the bills/coins. Check it out, OK - Good Luck and let us know what happens.
