spent 2 Xmases in Goa, great place too be, though it is really busy at this time, lots of foreign tourist and Indian tourist and you will find the prices much higher at this time. candolim is a great place. but get a place away from the main road if you want a good nights sleep, the traffic noise drives you up the wall. all the night life is on bagga road, you must try tito,s. have a nice xmas in goa, wish i was going, oh well maybe next year

Yes i'm going to spend my 3rd Christmas in Goa this year. I don't know Candolim that well but have heard it's pretty busy with lots to do but not as touristy as Calangute. The weather will be glorious, the beach and sea perfect and although accommodation and flight prices rise in this period it is still incredibly cheap compared to the UK. The atmoshere is lovely at Christmas as Goa is Catholic so they do celebrate but with none of the commercial rubbish that we get here and no build up either - it just sort of happens on christmas eve - rather than carols and decorations in the shops from mid-October.
Have a brilliant time!

i went april time a few years ago - december it's way less humid i stayed in candolim too. it's a beautiful part of the woorld. check out the local dolphin trips (dolphin john was superb!!!) also elephant rides in the jungle, hand feeding baby monkeys by a waterfall, anjuna market (old hippy haven) fresh caught fish in the beach shacks, super cheap beer, the friendliest, most hospitable people you are likely to meet!!! you'll have a fab time!
