All the evidence in the murder of President Kennedy is consistent with Lee Harvey Oswald being the assassin. That is NOT a popular answer with a great many folks, who insist on seeing a conspiracy where there isn't one but the truth is that there isn't a single shred of evidence that indicates that Oswald wasn't the killer and a veritable mountain of evidence that points to him. Oswald is rejected by so many because, as one already astutely pointed out, the idea that a nobody like Oswald killed the President of the United States can't be accepted by some.

The Kennedy Assassination mythos and its accompanying hysteria, has died out these past several years as 9/11 conspiracy stories have become the conspiracy de jur for the chronically gullible but prior to 9/11 the Kennedy Assassination was tops in their books. Hundreds of books, seriously,,, hundreds, have been written proporting to claim that Kennedy was killed by the Mafia, Cubans, his Secret Service detail, Vice President Johnston, a militant homosexual underground, Woody Harrilson's father and forces in league with the alien/ufo coverup. Creative and a laugh riot to be sure but nothing more than fantasy.

The truth is far less entertaining. Oswald worked in the Texas School Book Depository and Oswald, or a man who looked just like him, was seen firing from an upper window of the Texas School Book Depository at the president as the motorcade passed. After escaping in the confusion Oswald then shot and killed a Dallas police officer named J.D. Tippet with a pistol in front of half a dozen witnesses when Tippet stopped to question him. Oswald's rifle was found in the Texas School Book Depository building with his prints on it and the wounds inflicted on President Kennedy were consistent with the shots striking from high and behind him and coming from a rifle like Oswald's.

I could go on but there is little point to it. Those who insist on inventing a conspiracy or quoting from a Hollywood movie, Oliver Stone's fantasy based JFK, will never listen to the truth. Most of them are busy inventing new 9/11 conspiracies now anyway. The stories about Oswald being an innocent patsy are easily dismissed by applying logic and a bit of physics to the matter. It is not a very popular or exciting answer or one that is likely to sell many books but I believe the correct response to your question is Lee Harvey Oswald, from the Texas Book Depository, with a rifle.

Oswald was just the patsy. The real person behind JFK's death was Marcello from New Orleans, with the OK from the boss of bosses in Chicago (Giancana). They were fuming about Robert's incursions into the syndicate and JFK's renigging on pre-campaign promises to help the mob, among other things, to get back the casinoes in Cuba. Cuban agents, on orders from Castro, who was fuming over the Bay of Pigs Invasion found a patsy, thanks to KGB contacts in Russia. To clean the path to the Mafia and Cuban connection, a two bit night club owner (Ruby) was given the contract to take out Oswald in case he squeeled on the plot.

Good Morning Mike,

I was fortunate enough to visit Dallas a few months ago and actually walked to the grassy knoll and in the building where President J.F. Kennedy was shot.

I had a lot of various emotions and feelings as I walked around, while one thing I learned was that "I didn't kill him".

God Bless John, I missed and still miss him.

What a different world this may have been.

The CIA killed JFK. La Cosa Nostra, contracted by the CIA, killed the patsie Oswald.

Lee Harvey Oswald...duh!

No one really knows and won't know until the JFK 'files' are opened in like year 2068, or something very far in the future. Sorry.

Lee Harvey Oswald did it. I think people have a hard time believing a nobody killed such a prominent person.

There was someone besides Oswald who killed him as well. There were 2 shots, one entered his head and the other his neck. There are many good books on this subject, and you can find all sorts of theories online.

Lee Harvey Oswald. He was there, he had a rifle.

Was there a conspiracy? Perhaps, but clearly Lee was involved in any case.
