You mean the stock or the stock certificate?

The stock still survives as "T" today and it is worth something, but you'll need to do some homework as to what it is worth adjusting for splits. Is it worth hanging onto? In my opinion, no. Telelphony is quickly turning into a near-free side service (e.g. Skype).

The stock certificate is a different story. Physical stock certificates can be very valuable (or not worth the paper they are printed on) depending on the shape the certificate is in and how unique it is. However, few people ever ask for physical possession of the stock certificate (and most companies don't even issue physical paper any more). For example, an ex-coworker of mine gave his daugher a certificate for Barnum & Baily's Circus, which then ended up being worth US$5000 because of its ornate design, unique stock and colorful layout. I have a certificate for the original Electricity and Railway company of Istanbul. I don't the market value of Ma Bell's certificates, but it might be worth looking into if it is in good shape.
