Is he just loved or very famous? I don't get it. There are clearly players who are far better than him, but he seems to always take the awards. Players such as Pirlo and Riquelme should get the award, but I think publicity is Ronnies biggest tool.

What are you talking about, he was the first player that coaches were studying him because they didn't know how to stop him, how many players can play with Gattuso like with little kid ( like he did last CL semi finals against Milan ), his style of play was a mystery for all defenders and coaches and when he will come back in his form you will see why is he the best!!!!! He played almost hundred matches for Barca and he scored or assist on 80% of his games........ that's why he is the best!!! AND HE WILL BE ONLY BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! And about the WC....... he wasn't only Brazilian that played bad!!!!!

Well clearly he arguably plays for the best club team in the world barcelona. Coachs have to stop voting for him since clearly he did not do good in the world cup this year. Players like John Terry or mabye kaka should recieve the prize. Also he is extremly good at freestyling ordinary people watch his videos and say wow this guy is a great player. Anyways there are far way better freestylers in the world them him he is just loved .

Ronaldinho is a great footballer, very talented and skillfull, at the moment Barca is not playing to there best but i think the reason that is because Eto'o is injured they miss him dearly, but he helped Barca win two straight La Liga championships, and the champions league and he was a main factor, if he wasnt scoring goals he was making the play happen, not all great footballers score in every game, you know teams set up defenses just cause of him, Brasil didn't win the world cup, but you know there's 300 hundred other countries out there that would've of loved to make it to the quarter finals,and you answered your own question cause he is very famous cause he's proved himself on the pitch, i mean millions and millions of fans cant be wrong.....

u know wat.... i dont get it either. I have been discussing this issue with my brother and uncles but the conclusion we come to is that, his skills and the qualities he has as a player makes him the 'best'. But in fact, he didnt help Brazil win the world cup nor did he create magic in Stade De France during the Champions League Finals against Arsenal. It was Larsson who scored when he got in as a sub.
So, its pretty clear that Ronaldhino is winning awards due to his past commitment and skills not his current form which is very very unfair to players like Riquelme, Pirlo, Cannavaro....(just to name a few)

I strongly disagree with you. based on your sentiments I can not help it but sense that you are from Argentina. Well patriotism should not blind our judgement. Ronaldihno is in a class of his own, CLEARLY AND UNDENIABLY THE BEST. He deserve it. publicity has got nothing to do with it. Yes you are right players like Riquelme and Pirlo are good players, so is Messi, Van Pessi, Makelele, Eto, the list is endless but at the moment King Ronaldihno rules.

The awards for any sport are to the most noticible i.e ronaldo, beckham, ronaldinho etc. they ussually don't take into consideration the people who put in consistantly good performances only the ones who have brilliant (on occasion) performances on the most elite levels like for instance finals or world cup matches

Well, you have discovered that it doesn't matter where you play, what you play or how good a season you have.....when it comes down to personal awards it's a popularity contest first, then it is based on the player's stats.

He plays for Barcelona. FIFA will almost always give it to someone who plays in Spain. If Thierry Henry had a Barcelona or Madrid shirt then he would have won it 3 years in a row.
