C'mon Dd, you're a smart guy. You know better. What was that line from the old song "Who are You," by the "Who?"
"...Meet the new boss -- same as the old boss."
We'll play the game of musical hypocrisy with this crowd for a few years, get sick and tired of their scandals, and then bring in a fresh bunch of phonies.
Sorry. But I say "Don't vote -- it only encourages them."
Cheers, mate.

This is an excerpt on the cycle of democratic nations:
"About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
1. Population of counties won by: Gore: 127 million; Bush: 143 million;
2. Square miles of land won by: Gore: 580,000; Bush: 2,427,000;
3. States won by: Gore: 19 Bush: 29 (yet Gore almost won the Presidency)
4. Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Gore: 13.2, Bush 2.1
Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the tax-paying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements living off government welfare.
so the question i have is will world govt take hold before our dictatorship kicks in?

Of course we will. There is very little difference between the 2 parties. Our gov't is ever-growing and increasingly centralized. Slowly looking like some western European nation. And creeping into a left wing vs right wing kind of socialism.
And as we all know, socialism can't sustain itself. That kind of hooey takes a lot of your dollars to operate itself. Kind of like a bloated leech, fit to burst. Democrats openly want to repeal Bush tax cuts. I make middle class wage, and the difference in what I give to the feds HAS been noticable.
But. no matter who you are-left or right, religious or not, regardless of your race, you name it...
Each and every one of us right now is funding something via our tax dollars that we disagree with. Does it really matter which party is running the show, when we were based on the simple fact of life that the government actually has no right to fund ANY social program? It is the few leading the many, no matter who is in the seat. No good.
I ONLY vote republican because that is my only hope, thin as it is, that less of my money is being syphoned out of my check, and into something I may not agree with.

Not if they refuse to file.... That's JUST like voting, only YOU have the financial teeth. Enough votes (refusals) what can they do?
Increase taxes to build more prisons?

Probably so. Americans will get taxed more under democratic rule, and the tax cut will be stopped. That means more money out of our pockets thanks to liberals.

Good point. Paying for NAMBLA makes as much sense as paying for the Faith Based Initiative.

Democrats are notorious for raising taxes to subsidize their spending. I hope you have been saving for the past six years because we will be paying through our teeth in a few months.

All politicians raise taxes, but only democrats want to raise the minimum wage. Think about that. Bush had 6 years to raise it, he raised gas prices instead.

According to your "hate-mail," you are against all American politics, including our very form: Democratic-Republic.
I think you ought to preface every question with an honest picture of who you are.
