I think that there are rights... But I cant say yes because in my state the rules my be different... check with HRS ( children and families) they may be able to help.... its different legislature from state to state.
I know in my state you can check your self out of a mental hospital... so maybe there is something to that.. Being that if you have your spouse committed in a mental.. institution ... ... for the point of getting them out of the way... You probably cant due to the laws and abuses in the 50 60 and 70's.

I don't think you have a legal right to force an adult to take a drug test. You can however take their hair with follicule in tact from a hair brush or comb and take it in for testing. Contact a company who does testing and see what they say or suggest. You have to protect yourself, even if it isn't drug use there must be some sort of bizarre or destructive behavior for you to suspect it.

The spouse should have the rights to commit them to rehab; it is for their own good.

No, and they shouldn't have that right. No adult in a free society should be forced to do anything against their will. Ultimately, the fact that we live in a free society means that nobody can judge what is good for you, but you.

Unfortunately, I don't think that anyone can put another adult into rehab unless it is their choice. Adults need to make that decision on their own to put themselves into rehab. Nobody can make them do it.

Yes, talk to your local crisis center, and it's in the telephone book under counselig.
It's called intervention! ...people do it all the time...and many times it saves the lives of all involved.
Please get help, and if you need to go to the locall police and ask them for help....and they may do an intervention for you!
