As far as I know you can't resize or get rid of the address bar in IE7; it's damn annoying. A number of tweaks are available here

You can run IE7 with the IE6 GUI by going to start>run
and type
c:\windows\ie7\iexplore.exe
click ok

but what's the point???

hi u can remove the toolbars or part of a tool bar like yahoo messenger, msn messenger, print, home, view feed backs, help etc. u can also add your own. to remove a tool go to view menu unselect a tool bar which u want to remove. to customize a tool bar just right click on empty space beneath the address bar or after the empty space after help in menu bar. u'll see customize command bar in this u'll be presented with add or remove commands. try this ie 7 is good hope this helps u.
