Sounds like an expensive way to attempt to get rid of roaches. There are lots of "home remedies" for getting rid of roaches, but I have yet to see one that works in the long run. Best advice is to hire the services of a reputable exterminator. Roaches can be very difficult to get rid of and it will probably take repeated applications to solve the problem.

I have never heard of the solution with tabasco sauce
However you might want to purchase boric acid powder from the local drugstore. It is said the roaches eat it, but blow up when they begin to digest it.

No, but if nothing else you will have roaches that are after the water now.
