I found a baseball in my attic signed by Mickey Mantle. Is this worth a lot of money?

It really depends on the quality of the ball (type and condition) and signature. I would suggest getting it appraised through an official appraiser, maybe someone like PSA/DNA. They will put a grading on it and then usually give you an estimate of total worth. It will cost you a few bucks to do this, but the return is well worth it (PSA/DNA authenticated stuff usually sells a whole lot higher).

If you are looking to offload it without getting it authenticated, go through auction sites specifically for Sports autographs and game-used memorabilia. I like checking things out at American Memorabilia.com. You can do searches here to see how similar balls went for in past auctions.

Do you happen to know around when the signatiure was obtained?

Hope this helps.

If it's an authenthic signature from the Mick it's worth alot. Take it to a REPUTABLE dealer and have it checked out. You can also take it to an antiques dealer or an auction house that has people that are experts with items such as this. Good luck.

It probably is - try taking it to a few memorabilia stores and see if anyone can give you a rough idea of what it's worth. And it wouldn't hurt to check Ebay to see if anyone else has tried to sell one - see what what are bidding for it. The only problem is whether you can prove it's real or not.

You'll probably want to have it authenticated first. Your local card dealer should be able to tell you where to find someone that can do that. If it is a real signature, it is probably worth quite a bit depending on condition.

If you have proof, I would say it is worth around 200.
