We, a bunch of jokers, shmoozed our way into getting a massive contract for a documentary, man i talked and talked and they gave it to us, but now I have to write the damn thing. I have no clue! I've written screenplays for films but not documentaries so I need some help and advice.

Good Job! The gist of documentary writing is you take your initial concept and flesh it out with camera staging and location planning. If say you were making a documentary on mom's in Central Park, NY - you would set up a calender and invite mom's to participate via ad placement or flyer's in Central Park for specific days and the interviewer would have a loose script of questions - a good documentary has a fair amount of improve though because you will want to respond honestly. Then once you have enough film you slice together the most fluid and interesting parts to show to the investors.
You should watch a few of the better documentaries to get an idea of flow-it can be a great project and very rewarding depending on what you are doing it on. Good Luck!
