I spend a lot of time dealing with friends PC problems. 90% can be resolved instantly by using a previous restore point. My advice. leave it on. The only time I would turn it off was if the PC was infected by a virus. I would turn off restore option, remove the virus and then make a fresh restore point. and clear all the preceeding ones. Just in case you later restore your PC to an infected restore point. You may well find the virus is back.

Not like that , but each time u install some thing , a restore point is created, of course that does not use much space. When u turn off sr, all previous restore points are erased, and some space is free. But this not the use of turning off sr, but it is called USE FULL SIDE EFFECT of turning sr off.

It will not use up memory, hard drive space yes. Leave it on, one day you might need it. You can adjust the amount of space for these system snapshots if you are concerned about your hard drive space.
