I was on the pill for 8 years before deciding to get pregnant. My doctor said to wait at least 4 months (while using other contraception) before trying to get pregnant. So this is what I did. On the 5th month, I got pregnant.

I then went back on the pill and now pregnant again. My doctor (new one) told me to have a period on my own before trying to get pregnant and so I did. On the 2nd month, I got pergnant. This is through the use of FAM though (Fertility Awareness MEthod).

Some women do not start ovulating for up to 12 months after stopping pills. And some start right away. It just depends. When you stop your pill, I suggest using FAM to see if you are ovulating. I suggest the book, "taking charge of your fertility" by toni weschler to know all you can about it. Good luck

You can get pregnant right after taking it. I was on the same type pill and two months after I stopped taking the pill I was pregnant. Taking the pill should not hurt your fertility I have been on the pill for 11 year before I had my son with no complications. If you are really worried I would suggest talking with your doctor. Do not stop taking the pill till you are really ready or you might have a child sooner than you think.

I'm on the same now and my doctor says it's okay to take it and it has a lower amount of hormones in them than other ones. Now it depends on the person on how long it will take to get pregnant. I haven't gotten off of this to get pregnant but I did with the Ortho Tri Cyclen and I got pregnant within that first month of getting off of it. My nurse friend told me that it could take up to three months for the pill to get out of your system but it didn't for me. Good luck to you!

I was on it, went off it in January, and was pregnant in February, but miscarried in March. I'm now 20 weeks along again and, though there is not any proof, some say that getting pregnant immediately after going off the pill without waiting 2-3 months could cause a higher risk of m/c.

My period was suppose to come week of Oct.22. Oct.27 still no period took two pregnancy tests both came out positive. And now I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant. It can happen ASAP!

You shouldn't have a problem getting the Ortho out of your system. But don't forget that sometimes it can take a few months to get pregnant. You might not know if you're ovulating regularly (even if you get a period every month).

Have fun trying!

I was on Ortho TriCyclen (and Lo for a few months) for over three years before stopping it last December. We're still TTC.

You can get pregnant while on it. 1 in 100 women do every year.

When you stop taking it, you start ovulating again. It just depends on how long it takes your body to get its hormones leveled out. It could be right away, or it could be a year later.

you can get pregant - normally- as soon as you stop taking those pills... they should not affect your fertility as it isn't 'stored' in your body as a depo-provera shot would be

i actually was getting the shot and switched to my pills for a few years so the shot would clear out of my system

my doctor recommended for us to use other forms of birth control for two months after stopping the pills before TTC

best of luck!

The best thing to do is to discuss it with your doctor but as soon as you stop taking it, you should be able to get pregnant. Good luck.
