Most definately. Whenever anyone insults anyone, an apology is appropriate. However, in this case it is more than appropriate, it is almost required. Rangle is in a position of leadership. With leadership comes the charge to set an example. Though it may sound like a pep talk to be given to a child, when you are in the public eye like that, you must always remember to be nice. What he said was mean. He should say "I'm sorry"

Of course not. This nonsense that anyone you disagree with owes you an apology is absurd. If that's how he feels, that's how he feels. Put away your PC Police badge and move on.
