With my first pregnancy,my daughter's due date was Oct.22. I had her Oct 17 2004. My labor lasted almost 18 hours. I felt just like you do, I was so tired of being pregnant. But think about this, every day your child stays in your belly the healthier and stronger her lungs will be for her birth. Your baby's still growing and you shouldn't try to rush that. When she/he is ready it will be best. Don't get discouraged you still have 2 weeks. It seems like forever but when that baby actually arrives you'd wish you'd taken advantage of the extra time to rest. Hope all turns out wonderfully for you and your baby!

Everyone is different, and most doctors will not let anyone go more than 8 days late because of the problems with the placenta that occur with about 75% of women who are more than 10 days late, (the placenta starts to break down and doesn't produce nutrients like it should). Just relax! That's the best thing you can do anyways. Sleep, enjoy a good book and a movie! My daughter is 13 months old and I haven't had a full night sleep or gone to a movie since she was born!

It's funny because I heard the opposite. I was four days early with my daughter. Labor lasted a little more than twelve hours (which isn't bad considering my youngest sister was three days early, a C-section, AND 12lbs!) and it went more quickly once I got the epidural. Since my water broke in the hospital overnight, I needed the epidural to sleep. It just depends on the woman. Your doctor should be monitoring the baby and how much the baby is growing. If he/she gets too big, (as the case with my little sister) the doctor may decide to induce. Either way, you're almost there, I promise. Hang in there!

My sister delivered her first baby 10 days before her due date. Not all first time mothers are late and not all first time mothers have long labors. Some first time mothers have very quick labors. You can try doing squats to move things along. Hold the squat until you feel the pressure build then push down. That helps your cervix dilate and can bring on labor. Good luck and try to stay positive.

I had my first child on my due date and I was only in labor for 6 hours and she was out in 3 pushes. There are a lot of myths about pregnancy's so don't fret, everyone is different so there isn't any reason to get yourself upset. Enjoy your last days as a pregnant woman. Congratulations and good luck.

It is not always true. I did have my son one day after my due date but I had a friend that was 2 days early. The true question is has your body started to get ready. Have you started to dialate or thin out yet. I started about a month before I had my son but I was at 1 cm forever. Trust me as soon as you have your child your life changes enjoy this time before you give birth go get pampered because after they are born you do not have any you time but you enjoy not having the time do not get me wrong.

I delivered my son 10 days early.
First lesson of being a mom: Most of the time, you need to ignore what everyone else tells you.
Congrats and Good Luck.

My first baby arrived a day before her due date and the labour only lasted 10 hours. Second babys tend to be earlier. Depends on genetics as they can play a part too. Dont worry, your baby will arrive when he/she is ready. It will fly by! Congrats x :)
