The only way to stop a penalty kick is if the kicker doesn't hit it right. If he does, the keeper doesn't have a chance. Just stay in place, because many players kick close to the keeper and if you dive, won't have a chance to those easy saves.

You have to anticipate where the ball is being kicked ... either with a gut feeling or stats that are studied prior to the game. Also, watching a players hips when he/she kicks will determine where the ball is going. Then once you decide where you're going, you have to evoke some intense diving skill.
