It's bogus. Astronomy is a science. Astrology is a relic of the middle ages, no person in their right mind should take it seriously!

I sure don't understand how Astrology can be an art form. What is it's medium? What senses are stimulated? Where is the creativity and beauty?
It's certainly not science but astrology uses science. Results in science demands consistency and must able to be duplicated by others. The last thing astrology is constant.
Some people don't know what real science is. Here is a good explanation.

Science
From the Latin scientia, meaning “knowledge.” Science is a search for knowledge of the universe.
Scientists observe, draw conclusions from their observations, design experiments to examine those conclusions, and end up stating a theory which should express a new fact or idea. But if new or better evidence comes along, they must either discard that theory or amend it to accommodate the new evidence.
In effect, science is a process of arriving, but it never quite arrives. A theory can perhaps be disproved, but it can never really be “proved.” Only the probability of a theory being correct can ever be properly stated. Fortunately, most of science consists of theories that are correct to a very high degree of probability; scientists can only establish a fact to the point that it would be obstinate and foolish to deny it. Since new data are constantly being presented, a theory or observation may have to be refined, repudiated, modified, or added to in order to agree with the new data.
True science recognizes its own defects. That willingness to admit limitations, errors, and the tentative quality of any conclusion arrived at is one of the strengths of science. It is a procedure not available to those who profess to do science but do not: the abundant and prolific pseudoscientists and crackpots.
And there is an important difference between pseudoscience and crackpot science: The former has some of the trappings, generally the appearance and much of the language used by real science, while the latter has no pretensions at all of appearing to be science. The present German fascination with imaginary E-rays and the speculations on how dowsing is supposed to work are pseudoscience; most perpetual motion ideas and things like reflexology, palmistry, and psychometry are crackpot science.
Scientists aren't always right. And they don't always follow the rules exactly. The monk Gregor Mendel, performing his experiments in the mid-1880s which established the fundamental laws of heredity, apparently altered his figures slightly so that the results were somewhat more convincing——but in the long run, despite this “honest” fiddling with his data, he was right. The fact that other researchers can, even today, replicate his experiments and thus validate his conclusions has provided us with firmly established basic scientific laws about heredity.
Newton, Kepler, Einstein, Curie, Galileo, and hundreds of other men and women of science——though they made some errors along the way——have provided mankind with knowledge that has made life richer, fuller, and more productive.
Science and magic are exact opposites.

Astronomy comes from the ancient science of astrology, which was limited to only a select few. Popes were allowed access - the entire zodiac is tiled in the floor of the Vatican- and the rich were allowed access. It was kept from the poor and pooh-poohed because they didn't want commoners to have access. All the royalty in the world has had access, as did - well, to put it in Rockefeller's words, "Astrology is not for millionaires, it's for billionaires." And as Einstein said, "Do not speak to me of Astrology, for I have studied it; you have not." As did Freud- did I spell that right? And many others who rose to fame. Almost all the presidents, from Lincoln to Washington on, studied or practiced astrology, or sought advisors. And then there were people like Ptolemy, Copernicus, yada, yada. Modern times, Evangeline Adams whom they tried to put on trial in the state of NY for "fortune telling." She was given a chart to read of a person whom she knew nothing about and blew everybody's mind with her accuracy. The chart, by the way, was that of the judge's very own son! Needless to say, she was exonerated. And then there were people like Edgar Cayce........the list goes on and on. And scientific studies which can tell you - sorry, it's late and the name escapes me at the moment - but years and years of documented research as to, for example, how many of the world's best surgeons are Scorpio. How many of the world's greatest war generals were Libra. Greatest musicians, -- And you need to take it all into account. When I say war generals were Libra, means they either had Libra rising, many planets in Libra, or many planets in the 7th, or aspects to the rulers thereof, just as an example. How authentic? I can guarantee you, you give your time, date, and place to a "real" astrolger, and you will know how authentic it is. Heck, I can even tell you how old you were when each major event happened in your life, (first time you had sex, for example) or your father's, your mother's, your siblings, your aunts, uncles, friends, lovers, kids, etc, all by doing your chart. You can rotate the chart and say, Hey, you know what? Your neice, if she's not careful, will get pregnant next month. You'd better tell your sister to have a good long talk with her about boys and responsible sex. Or, you know, you might better tell your dad to get to the doctor for a full physical, because you have this certain aspect coming up which indicates a health problem to do with your father. And that's just the beginning of what a "real" astrologer can do.

Neither.

Astrology is a pseudoscience claiming divination by the positions of the planets and sun and moon as as such is not 'science.'

Defining it as an 'art' implies veracity to results obtained via it's study.

Given the vague nature and broadly applicable characteristics applied to 'signs' of astrology and horoscopes in general I would be quite reticent to call it an art either.

I view it all as a matter of light curiosa and do not place any credence on horoscopes, charting, or any other aspect of astrology.

Any resemblance of astrology and horoscopes to people or daily life is merely coincidence.

From my knowledge, Astrology is known as both, as a science in an artistic way. Because the stars are out there. We are all born under a certain star constellation, by the day we are born on. I am an Aries, born On April 9th. All people born in the specific day for an Aries is born under the specified star constellation. I also think that the prediction of horoscopes is artistic too. Because certain people act certain ways under the astrology sign. For instance i am an Aries, so they say i am aggressive etc. yes i guess i am, but everyone is.
Even Shakespeare had an artistic quote on the stars:

Neither, it from the devil, era! study on..... Jeremiah 10:2 that is what the Lord says: “do not act like quite a few different countries, who attempt to study their destiny contained in the celebrities. Micah 3:6 Now the nighttime will close round you, removing all of your visions. Darkness will cover you, putting an end for your predictions. The solar will set for you prophets, and your day will come to an end. Micah 3:7 then you seers will be placed to shame, and also you fortune-tellers will be disgraced. and also you may cover your faces because there's no answer from God.”

Astrology is mathematics as well as science. science says that waves from moon affects waters of ocean. you know it and everbody knows it too. human body is made of 80% water. Think about it. In astrology Moon defines your mind , intellectual etc. and science says that moon waves affects human minds esp on full moon. Its not that im saying it. science and scientists says so. in indian vedic astrology there are 9 planets.
Moon, Sun, Rahu & ketu (both are invisible they are not planets but give place in planets), mars, jupiter, mercury, saturn, venus.

relating to this, there are 7 colours you can see by ur naked eye when sun rays is passed via prism. two are invisible IR and UV. i hope you are understanding why rays affect us. This is not just joke. IR and UV are Rahu and KETU.

Astrology was developed (till we can count) 5000 years ago (atleast). Bramhabhatt was the first scientist 5000 years to calculate the speed of planets and sun. people developed astrology were not idiots. they wouldnt just speak or write trash. its us the people who are idiots that say astrology is stupid. I must appeal to all who just thinks that astrology is fake that just dont speak if you dont know what astrology is. because you dont know anything. Its an ocean of knowledge.

I hope you're satisfied by my answer. I've explained it scientifically. I have lots of mathematics explainations but i cannot explain it here. Astrology is pure maths ans science. you'll come to know if you go deep in it. otherwise just say that its fake just because you're unable to learn it.

When I incorporated astrology into my psychic coaching practice it was paramount for me to be able to ‘cut to the chase’. Many enthusiastic astrologers leave me in a cosmic confusion (and wondering if I need medication) when they regurgitate those Planetoids in Uranus interpretations with too much focus on transits, progressions, planetary returns and solar arcs. The artistry of astrology is in answering your questions of ‘what’s in it for me'? in a down to earth and usable way. And that comes from holding a vision of the heavens while keeping one’s feet on the ground; the way of the Astrology Junkie. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/astrology-junkie.html
