corsets are meant to reduce a waist and generally enhance body features.
bustiers are generally less boned and achieve less enhancements.
i wear both. but corsets ae a pain to put on and to wear. bustiers are more comfortable for normal occasions.

In old days, a corset was worn over a night-gown like slip called a chemise. The corset was cinched in to make the waist as tight as possible, but the breasts were not cinched in, they were held in by the chemise. A bustier is like a corset except that the front goes up and covers the breasts. In some old styles, the idea was to totally flatten the bust! Nowdays, they are shaped to give cleavage. You should try one on before you buy it. Try Victoria's Secret. Or, if you like to sew, check out the major pattern catalogs - they have all kinds of fancy and sexy old-fashioned undergarments, and they aren't that hard to make at home.

A corset is for the abdomen and the back, a bustier is for the abdomen, back and to give the girls a boost! I would try Bra World, Fredericks, Lover's Lane, Sears, and boutique stores in the mall. I can't really tell u where 2 go 2 purchase one, because stores differ depending on where u live. Sometimes u can find just what u need over the internet. go to www.ebay.com

A corset was meant to squeeze in your waist, making it smaller. A bustier boosts the boobs! LOL Ok, couldn't help it...
