The spousal support issue depends on the state you live in, the amount of money you earn on the job you find, and the length of time you were married. He will pay much more than $50 a month in child support, though, once you get a legal child support arrangement. I'd be doing that now. Go to your local domestic relations department and file a complaint for child support. They will attach his wages, if necessary, so that you get money coming in on a regular basis. Also, file for divorce as soon as you can to get the ball rolling. Good luck with the job hunt. If possible, find a job that benefits your child. Can you work in a school cafeteria, drive a school bus, or be an aide in a day care center? Try to find work where you can take your child with you, if possible.

I would say yes to receiving support from your ex. You have never worked and stayed home to raise your son. Spousal support should be granted. Your ex has a obligation to pay you support as well as your son. The quicker you get to family court, the better off you'll be. If you can't afford a lawyer there is legal aid (a free lawyer) to fight for you. Go to your court house in your town and set this up. Good Luck Cocoa

Go down to your local court house and file a petition for child support and for spousal maintenance. File pro sei (without an attorney) It should only cost you about $20.00 The judge will grant a temporary support order as well as spousal maintenance. If your husband chooses to get an attorney, make him aware that you will ask the judge to grant you attorney fees as well so that you too may seek the advise of an attorney at the expense of your husband.
You also qualify for government assistance for housing, ADC, welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, and schooling for yourself. Most likely your husband will be ordered to pay you spousal support for 1 year or until you establish suitable employment. Take advantage of it and go back to school.

As for the child support, if they live with you, yes, you should get it and deserve it.
As for spousal support. That's where you lost me. NO, you do not deserve it. Get a job and fend for yourself. Stop being greedy.
