Sorry but I fail to see you logic on this.
One Brit does something stupid, indredibly stupid i'll admit, and that's your justification to call all of us stupid?
So, no American ever in your history has ever done an equally stupid thing then?
Just for the record, as a brit, I have never said, implied or thought that "Americans are stupid". I'm sure there are some brits who do, a minority group of stupid brits who say stuff like that, But that does not mean you can accuse a whole nation of doing so. Just as I don't judge the whole American nation on one idiotic president and a few stupid americans who suggest "Brits are stupid".

Everyone enjoys feeling superior to others. Pick any two groups, known to each other and individuals in either will come up with reasons why they are better. It's human nature. There is also a tendency to denigrate or bring down, those bigger, or more powerful than yourself.
That said, we did elect George W Bush as President.

I harly think that the stupidity of one person out of 60,000,000 people should brand our entire Nation "stupid". However allowing ownership of firearms as a constitutional (Nation-al) right and the popular need for 6-litre V-8 engines in a world on the brink of climatic disaster....
