Well I've seen quite a bit of these "calls for unity" now since the republicans lost. Where were these calls during the republican reign? I never saw any "calls for unity". No democratic input. No democratic advisory. Not even any advisory from the citizens of the country. And republicans call democrats sore losers? They can't even lose without trying some way to stay on top. Such is the republican parasite.

Centurion: I'm glad you understand how at least one republican leader operates. The worst thing is the foolish pride the republicans keep even after it's become evident that bush is nothing short of terrible for the citizens of this country.

As a republican, who cares anymore. We were sold a lousy bill of goods by them. It's a slap in my face when the person you vote into office ignores all of the people who put him there. They got what they deserve.

The people of this country have finally been able to let our government know that we are not satisfied with the way things have been going.
I think it's because they see that they may have been wrong in their thinking and ways of doing things. President Bush may now realize that his way of doing things is not in accordance with the American people. I pray that now things will get done as they should be; and, we can feel safer in our own country and Senior Citizens will be recognized and can get the help they need.

You should have seen the change when the Democrats were wiped out for illegally voting down the guilty verdict in the senate for Clintons impeachment proceedings.
I knew it was over for them on that day.

Then we can have just one guy in charge.

Don't all normal people make some changes when they lose.be it a job, a race ...i could go on ,what kind of person would you be if even when you lost at something did not find out why ,and make changes.Very weird question really weird.are you sure you are OK?!!!!!!

It is a strategic game they play
they count on the public at large having very short memories
they revel in their domination of government and when they have been brought low by their overt mishandling and abuse of power--they immediately start the call for a "unified" and "bi-partisan" "new day" of "cooperation"---when all they're saying here is---let us have the priveledges that we denied to you while WE were in control !!!!!!!
And-- believe me when I say--- they didn't change---only the situation for them changed !!!!

Honestly, it makes sense to me that when a party loses, they realize people aren't happy, therefore they change how things are done. Now why it took that to know peopole weren't happy, I don't know.
