As I child I was subjected to real wool jumpers and now cannot stand ANYTHING itchy and have to cut labels out of clothes and have to be careful of lace on underwear etc. All stems from a cruel childhood and wool... Is it washable? Could you wash with delicate powder and conditioner? Try taking it to the dry cleaners? Otherwise, and my top tip BIN IT!

I agree with Welshchic; you might get away with trying Ecover Wool Wash then use a hypoallergenic fabric conditioner. The wool wash makes the wool really soft.

i do that sometimes if it is irritating my skin

I don't mean to sound discouraging, but you may be allergic to wool. I am, and I just had to give it up. Sorry!
